Launch Week Results
I'm not a huge seller right now because I'm not investing a lot into my promos. When I got close, I invested $500 in promos.
On 8-Jan-18, I launched Desert Shaman at $0.99. When I did that, I only used one of these each day, instead of stacking them like I normally do. I knew that some worked better than others, but had no idea who the poor performers were.

Now, with some of these numbers, I really should be supplementing them with FB ads, AMS, and Bookbub ads, but I'm trying to keep the metrics clean. Each promo at the very least gave me my money back. I didn't lose on any of them, though...some were pretty close.
As you can see, all of the promos I chose are small. They're easy investments. I spent less than $100 and was able to double that by the middle of the week. I sold $245 worth of books in a week. It's not great, but it's pretty good for a $0.99 book. I didn't have a lot of big newsletter swaps, and there were no Facebook, AMS, or Bookbub ads. In two weeks, I'll be launching another book in this genre at full price.
Now, keep in mind that this is a new release in an existing series. People aren't just buying this book. They're going back to the beginning and buying through the series, and the two sister series. This is, by all accounts, a rather soft launch. But it's the most successful "soft launch" I've ever experienced. So...I'll take the win.
I was lucky enough to be chosen in a group promo. There's a bunch of us authors who gather together to promote each other. The week prior was Ines, a great person and a fun author. The week after my launch was my turn. Let's see the results. Keep in mind that this is total books, including all the other books.
Several $0.99 books.
Keep in mind, this is just Amazon. This isn't including what I've sold with the other vendors.
All in all, I say that this launch was successful. On to the next!
